Hamster Free Zip Archiver is a data compression utility for creating and decompressing ZIP and 7ZIP files. Without much regard for the complex interface of applications such as WinZip and 7Zip or even WinRAR, Hamster's ZIP Archiver looks more like a flash game than a compression utility.
The interface of Hamster is overall 'cute', a word we normally wouldn't use for an archiver. But with that said, it does great work zipping and unzipping files and for that, this program gets our thumbs up. What's better is the fact that the source code is fully available and it is distributed as freeware, something WinZip users might dread.
Since it is a free application, Hamster's Zip Archiver doesn't contain all of the fancy bells and whistles or configuration options of its rivals. Though that might just be the main selling point of this program, because it's so easier to use and it's fast!
